‘“Self-reflection helps one become self-aware and have the confidence to include those around you as they are. When you the world inside you, the potential for growth and transformation is endless.”
Our world has become more and more divided as we spin around on polarized opinions. Drawing on a common interest in myth, folklore and storytelling, the artists imagine this pair of creatures in an ethereal setting as a representation of hope for a less fractured society. The loon represents the strength to look within oneself with honesty, the snake is a symbol of transformation, and the surrounding forest characterizes the potential for growth.’

‘Let’s Root for Each Other’

’I can’t begin to speak about this project until I acknowledge the process. One of my favourite things about my career path is how open it allows me to be in order to take on a wide range of opportunities. On the flip side of that, I often find it feels a little more like hurtling head first into unknown territory with certain projects.
My most recent mural with Sevenoaks Shopping Centre was a huge leap that I was so incredibly excited to take on but with it I want to be fully transparent that I was staring up at that wall with the WORST sense of imposter syndrome. Looking back on it, I largely attribute the successful completion of that project due to the guidance from fellow artists as well as my support network building me up along the way. It wasn’t until, while in the thick of it, one of my best friends asked if I had considered turning it down and revisiting an opportunity like this when I had more experience. This is when I realized it had never even crossed my mind because I knew it was going to be so worth it in the end.
So the lesson to be learned here is and always will be push through, apply for it anyways, and write all your goals in red pen!’
